labbaikalla humma labbaik (pt 1)

Masha Allah i managed to perform my Hajj on the yaer of 1432Hijra which is 2011. Its a blessing indeed and MashaAllah and Alhamdulillah as Allah did grant me the opportunity to do the Hajj this year.Looking back when i  first register myself for the Hajj queue in Malaysia with the Hajj Fund (Tabung Haji) 2011 seems so far away. i basically have to wait about 7 years and i remember laughing at the officer saying that this is ridiculous. But how time flies and when i tot that i will miss this 2011 Hajj as i'm away from the country, Allah with his Grace and Mercy and Knowledge open up another way for me through the sponsored of my dear husband. Alhamdulillah and thank you very much to my dear husband for this gift. Fabi ayyi ala i rabbikuma tukazziban. If before when i register on the Hajj queue, i was single and the matter of mahram was a concern, but Alhamdulilllah with Allah grace and mercy i  have all these matter sort out, going to Hajj before the age of 40 and with my husband as my mahram. Really i cant count the blessing Allah has bestow me and my family.

i wanted to write about my hajj 2011 experience a memory that i should not forget, but at the same time i wanted the experience to be in both the spiritual and the physical matter. And of course only to write the good memories, inshaAllah,

Me and husband have plan to basically walk for our Hajj starting after the Arafat day..meaning walking from Arafat---> Muzdalifah--->Mina----> Mecca. I did not bother to write the distance as per the sign board because i'm just too tired. But this is what i found in the internet..

  1. Distance between Haram & Mina is roughly 8 KM (5 Miles)
  2. Distance between Mina & Arafat is roughly 14 KM (9 Miles)
  3. Distance between Arafat & Muzdalifa is roughly 9 KM (4 1/2 Miles)

My husband based on his own personal reason and experience choose to walk rather then taking the bus.I personally do not agree with this arrangement as i believe this Hajj ritual is and ibadah in which  need to be observe carefully. Unlike him, this is my first ever hajj experience and i prefer to do the manasik carefully and perfectly and at my own speed and time as i believe we have ample time to do so and not forgetting to reflect on each step of the ibadah.....not on a basis of finishing and ending the manasik as soon as possible:) anway the captain say otherwise so i'm oblige to follow. And i do remember having my own personal reason in wanting the manasik to be done as soon as possible too but Allah knows best what is good for me. So Alhamdulillah for all cases.

our first walking journey is from Arafat to Muzdalifah which is roughly 9KM. we embark on the journey at roughly 4pm after Asar hoping to reach the border of Arafat before Maghrib, and Alhamdulillah we manage. maybe 20min before maghrib we have basically standing perhaps 200-300m from the signboard of Arafat starts here. we are infront of the journalist tower and waited about 2 hr before basically manage to make our move to the signboard/ border of Arafat due to the crowd. The walk gets better after that as less crowdy. Due to the negative thoughts from the very beginning of the plan, i found myself gets soo tired and the shoes basically hurt me so much. i cant walk anymore when we reach the border of muzdalifah at around 9.30pm.Husband being very toughtful and agreed to set the tent there although his first plan was to set tent at the border of muzdalifa- mina. We did the prayer and i instantly get myself comfortable in the tent and fell asleep. Husband pick up the pebbles for us as we are just too tired for that.

at around 1.30am we woke up after about 3 hr sleep to continue the walk. I have cramp on my right leg and it hurt so much when i move. Anway i tried my best to continue the walk and manage to walk about few hundred meters before i finally give up and husband again being thoughtful rent a wheelchair for me. It was a great relief and help a lot in 'curing' the cramp and i have few extra minutes sleep on the wheelchair :). i was wheeledchair basically from the middle of muzdalifah to place of Jamrat aqaba in Mina. I did my jamrat on a wheelchair and it wasnt crowded at all. Alhamdulillah for all.we arrive at the jamrat at about 4am. We did our tahalul as husband brought his own electric shaver and razor and im the barber of the day. So alhamdulillah for all. He is all bald by then.

we then continue our walk from mina to mecca about another 8Km.By this time my leg feels so much better and i can walk with less pain. We arrived Haram at around 5am which is subuh prayer time.I had to do my ghusul at the toilet in haram as i have dark spot on my pants. This is one of the reason i wanted to finish up my tawaf ifadah as soon as possible as my menstrual cycle falls on these days. We enter haram for tawaf Ifadah at 6am basically and finish at around 7.40. We first had our tawaf on the ground floor and manage 3 circumbulate but due to the crowd for eid prayer it is just impossible and my stepdaughter start to feel nausea. we decided to put her on a wheelchair to finish her tawaf and saie and due to taht we are oblige to go to the 3rd floor. it was less crowdy there and we manage to circumbulate the rest of the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th on the 3rd floor. I feel Allah's mercy and help on me all the way of  my tawaf as i feel my leg is numb, i cant feel anything  but manage to continue to walk circumbulating the kaaba. When we finish and did our 2 nafl prayer i cant barely bent  my knee for rukuq and to do my sujud. i basically throw myself on the floor to manage to sujud as both getting up and sujud is impossible. But Allah is all Mercyful i manage to finish up my 2 rakat prayer and proceed for saie. We did our saie on the 3rd floor as well, and here i hang on to my dear husband all the way from safa and marwa and back and Alhamdulillah it is with Allah mercy that i manage. I recited Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum Birahmatika Astageeth all the way of my tawaf and saie as my feet is numb and my brain too is exhausted for other zikir and doa.

We finish our manasik at around 9am...went out from haram and had our breakfast at the turkish restaurant near the Haram and get ourself a taxi to go back to our hotel. i fell asleep in the taxi as  it was traficc jam all the way.We arrive the hotel at about 12pm but i cant seems to get myself to sleep, instead i did my laundry :) At this time i heard that the bus that bring the rest of the group is still stuck at muzdalifah. la Hawla wala Quwwata Illa billa.

Faraid

It is known that Faraid is Islamic way of distributing ones wealth. I have always wanted to know more about this matter as it is really recommended. There is even a hadeeth about this matter. Anway from my casual reading on this topic didn’t grant me any understanding of the concept or formula used. This blog shows and explain the method of Faraid in a simple manner that I think I’ve got the grab of it. Alhamdulillah. So im writing it so that I will not forget and just incase I need it, ill know where to dig more.

The dalil on the matter is to be found in surah An’nisa 11-12 and 176

In my own word, from my understanding, the one who is most eligble are the parents, spouse and children of the deceased. The rest of the relatives i.e grandparents, uncle, aunty and sibling of the deceased are also eligible to receive the wealth in certain cases. ( i wonder what cases)

2 types of waris..Fardh and Asabah
Fard is the one who receive his/her part from the whole sum of the wealth i.e wife  with children is allocated 1/8 from the sum of the wealth.( this is based from the allocation mention in quran)

Asabah are the one who will receive his/her part based on the deducted amount of wealth already allocated for the Fardh waris.i.e if the deceased is a female mother leaving a husband,a child and a mother. So the husband will get ¼ and her mother will get 1/6 from her whole sum of wealth and her son will get 7/12 from the balance. The formula is

1 – (1/4 + 1/6) = 7/12

Of course this website did not explain in detail of the overall faraid system..but I guess if this is the introduction. then I’m beginning to understand where and how to go from here. More reading needed  inshaAllah.

Rabbi Zidni Ilma warzukni Fahman.

Yesterday Once More

Assalamualaikum.....

These past few days i have been feeling sort of in DejaVu days. Always thinking many good memories i had had for the past 5-10 yrs ago. Sometimes you just wish you can go back to all those wonderful memories.

I guess all this reminiscent is base on the fact that i feel i'm no longer as energetic as before. How you wish you will always be the young, energetic and always on the go person. Anway..its true as that of the Prophet PBUH saying 'Grab the first 5 before came the other 5. One of them is to make the most of your youth before old age. I do not regret my youth days as i believe i have achieved so much indeed.

I remeber being one of the energetic leturer in the department, my schedule of travel/work within that 1-2 months of semester break is,  the Academic brain storming session of the university in Pangkor Island Beach,Resort (island retreat)  then practical  work  2 weeks onboard the Royal Malaysian Navy Ship cruising along the  Malacca Strait and then research work in Mulu National Park. Before that i was in Kota Kinabalu Sabah also sent by the Faculty for what a student reach out programme.I shall say this was the best year in my carrier life in the university. Not forgetting the adventerous jungle trekking with students in Berinchang Mountain in Cameron Highland. My first ever student counselor session. Then of course the student activity with my fellow lecturer, husband and wife and their small kid somehwere in Kelantan/ Thailand border. Anway i suddenly feel that i need to put those memories in this blog for my own pleasure. I do not have all the pictures associated with this memories as its back there in Malaysia, so im using google image to search for them and posting the pictures which resembles from the memories i have.

I'll start with Mulu National Park as i just can't seems to forget this beautiful scenery at the place called camp5. River sight by the mountain..wow...one of the picture below really resembles what i had back then. I love the hotel where we stayed most of the time. Mulu National Resort and i really  really wish that if we were given the rizk and opportunity by Allah, i would like to bring my husband and children there. Maybe not now as the children are still small and we are talking about 'venturing into the jungle' but Allah knows best. I do hope my family can experience what i had experienced there.

This is the most awesome and majestic sight of nature  i ever had in my life.

How lovely..if one day i'm to have a retreat house of my own, it should be like this setting LOL

Have little memory of this but yes, we slept on this..but its much better then the logging camp. I remember this is where the mosquito repellents are very much needed.

This grass  used to be full with our wet clothes

The end of the long journey.this Bridge is the pistop!

i remember walking on that plank

hotel areas, house/rooms are connected with this plank.

one of the most attractive room ive ever been

I remember the crystal clear green water and the fish swimming around you
This is the jetty to the Hotel.. river is the only connection to the nearest city

Our room is one of this type

Again these are not my pictures, i googled them and i do not know who those people in the pictures, but they were standing at places where i had taken the shot myself 5-7 years ago.The room in the Royal Mulu Hotel was superb and i shared it with a new friend of mine whom i forgot her name :( Whatever her name was,  memories trekking and the journey in Mulu National park with her will always be in my mind. May Allah makes us meet again. The team includes so many experts from many different areas makes it really a wonderful journey.

As i googled i also found pictures of the twin otter plane..which by itself was a great experience. Also the airplane view of the borneo jungle i saw

The last but not least are the pictures of the jungle trek i once ventured. Its the reason of this entry, about how i believe these track was the most enduring path in the journey and yet i completed it with much success and victory. i cant remember how long was the treakking part... maybe 2-6 hours...but i can assure you, the beg we shouldered all the way was 10-15kg or more...not forgetting the leaches that keep sticking to you all the way.... Alhamdulillah the victory was rewarding and the memories were priceless.

Not forgetting the item that makes the park attarctive to many visitors... the cave and the bats..and the guano..and also nenphantis and pinnacles.I just hope the park is being conserve carefully by the state government because one of our objective being there is to see the matter of conservation of the park.

millions of bats coming back to the cave

Fa bi Aiyi Ala i Rabbikuma Tukazziban. So inshaAllah i can do it!

Here it comes again

Salam to all

The cold n flu n cough season are back..so the adik has been 2 days at home recuperating...so officially yesterday was his 1st day being absent from school. Pity him .. a severe cough shaking your little body.

The abang on the other hand come home today chirping like a bird and telling me that he has something for me and adik.... a letter from school for ibu and tadaaa a very small truck toy for adik and a small car for himself. He said the teacher gave it to him as he has been very good at school and teacher gave him hadiah. mmmmm...im  abit skeptical about this but i dont want to have 'buruk sangka' on him..all ibu can do is to pray that you did not and will never ever steal from school or from your friends at school. Truth/ lie is still a mystery concept on him i guess. So ill be giving a watchful eye on this.

As fr me its my 4th day of shawal fast..inshaAllah ill finish it on the 29th of shawal..just in time...been very tired lately and when adik is sick, the lack of sleep makes this tiredness even worst.

And a quick note on the driving test yesterday...i failed again...huwaaaa.....but atleast i didnt feel cheated or zalim/unjustly treated...the police say im not good enough....and need practice and inshaAllah i will succeed next time...shwaiya shwaiya he said...im not sad though takpelah...there will be next time inshaAllah.

Update entry on Adik N Abang pt2

Today will try update again on adik progress at school. Its been 2 weeks adik in school...the 1st wed, sat, sun, monday ibu was there getting into the bus and waiting at the office there at school waiting incase unwanted scene to happen but Alhamdulillah all good...although the adik cry his heart put on that sat,sun ..but AlhamdulillAllah monday you were ok until now there is no more episode of crying that ibu heard of. But still in these past 2 weeks its been like 4-5 times you pee pee at school and come back wit the different set of cloth i prepared. Ibu is still sighing about this toilet training wit adik...1 week you progres very good and the next week we are back to square one....ibu just hope the teacher have the patience with you my dear son as you can be very stubborn when it comes to your wish of NO NO and NO nonetheless you are the youngest in the class..half of them are 3 yrs old and another half approaching 3 in 2-5 month time.

Abang grew so much..ibu realizes this when you sleep last night as how much you have grown....no more my little baby..you are a very tall kid now.But abang still manage to make me lost my temper very quickly..last few days we found a piece of playdoh in your ear...we know you put it there yourself as ive caught you many times doing that...but manage to stop you always... dont know when this happen but AlhamdulillAllah  we noticed it and went to hospital...and no serious injury or infection happen .

Abang have indeed out of pampers for good since my last entry....you are all dry and Alhamdulillah not once bed wetting scenario happen. As for school you have done very good... Abang is all ready for school on the 1st day....all gear up and when i left you in your class you smile and bye bye me as there is playdoh on the table for you to play with your new friends. You are now in KG2/ RC and few days ago you come home showing how to write 'a' .. you say teacher say this is the right 'a'..an 'a' which indeed like the English/American wrote....but ibu never likes their type of writing..cursive and big...ewww...but inshaAllah you will have a good and neat writing. Still no homework and ibu miss to help you with your homework so that i know what you are learning there.

Anway another day goes by and still many things ibu did not manage to accomplish with you both..May Allah make it easy..Allahumma Yassir Wala TuAssir.

School reopening

Assalamualaikum wbt to all

I found myself wanting to write about the big event that gonna happen tomorrow. New school session is beginning and Adik wil go to school at the age of 2 yr 5months....Masha Allah...ibu is abit worried and nervous and excited and all the feeling. Its almost midnight here but i found myself preparing for the big event tomorrow for you adik...get your clothes iron again...prepared the emergency change cloth..pre-prepared the lunch box ..you beg and toys in the beg ( so that you have something familiar close to you) the shoes and etc..ibu really hope ibu will not miss anything out as the bus gonna arrive pretty early 6.30am!. InshaAllah tomorrow ibu will join you to be in the school bus..stay at your school until inshaAllah you finish at 11.50am. Just hope  the school provide place for ibu to stay...else ..we will see how things are.

let just recap adik's milestone ... ibu is very worried on your toilet training...i just hope you are not the only one in the class  that have not yet master the toilet training....we basically get serious again about this toilet training after we come back from summer holiday in jun.so its been only 3months actually.... anyway Allah humma Yassir Wala Tuassir.

Then on your brestfeeding...Alhamdulillah you no longer suckle...the weaning process went smoothly n successfully ibu shall say. Although now and then you still miss susu and wants to see and touch susu. Ibu knows you two have been good friend all these while..so ibu let you have a skin to skin contact with susu..you cheek to my susu and you will say you want to sleep in that position.Ibu will say yes you may but only for a while and you understood. Masha Allah. How the weaning process started?...we started at the beginning of this ramadhan..the first day if im not mistaken..ibu put a plaster on both susu and told you that there is bobo/sakit/hurt....im sorry that ibu have to lie to you and ibu knows its not good to lie especially in Ramadhan..May Allah forgive me. For 4 days ibu let the plaster on and after that ibu decided to take it off but still telling you it hurts whenever you touch them and you believe me:( both you and your brother sympathize for me andfew days after that almost every time before you have nap in the afternoon and sleep at night you will insist that you need to look at susu. Just to know susu's condition seems to calm you down. and of course few week after that until last week you start having the yearning to be close contact with susu and until now you ask to be skin2skin contact with susu. AlhamdulillAllah all oes well with the weaning and you now heavily on 'susu bottle ' and 'chocolate drink' as substitute of my milk.

So inshaAllah again till next entry..need to sleep now so can be fresh for the busy and long day at school im sure.

Wassalam
